I met Sam and Matt one very rainy Friday afternoon in Manhattan. They suggested a cozy coffee shop for us to go over the details of their wedding. I was immediately smitten with this couple and their style starting with their venue. Crabtree’s Kittle House is a quaint inn located in Chappaqua, NY. Like their wedding, it is intimate and inviting. It was clear how much thought went into each individual detail of the day.
It is always important for us to capture the hours leading up to the ceremony. It plays a role in how we tell the story for our couples and establishing their individual personalities. With Sam and Matt we found the footage was very defined in terms of look and feel. When Matt is getting ready, his footage has a rat pack vibe to it. A fan of Frank Sinatra his scenes are darker, warmer toned with a hint of his whiskey’s smokey flavor. Sam, on the other hand, got ready in a light and airy room at the Kittle House. The blue on the walls was soothing and soft. Her dress, flowers and details were perfectly feminine. The difference is so apparent, and yet when it came to the ceremony and reception their individual styles blended together perfectly. What you will see in their highlight film is that the sum of Sam + Matt equals pure awesome.
